Dear Diary,
I am getting old, and pleasing customers dailey is never getting easy. They pay me 20 shillings a night, but I think I might increase the rates, because I'm starting to get sick, and can no longer run this place by myself. Now that my child has left for the city, trying to be a blacksmith instead of keeping the family tavern I'm forced to rely on the wife to serve the food, and clean up. Meanwhile I cook and try to manage the rooms. While not many people are keen on eating here, they will never stop the demand for ale. This is a major problem because the lamb chops might start getting bad, and I can't afford for that too happen. Especially after the last customer and the master room took off in the morning, after staying here for an entire week! While the tavern may be full of drunks, I'm grateful for the constant occupancy of most of the rooms. Other then the recent broken bed, they don't require much service which makes my wife happy. Meanwhile the bar is a constant mess so she's always busy...that and cleaning up the stabled out back strains her by the dailey.
